About Us

Benjamin received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting in June 1988 from Davenport University.  He began is professional career with the Internal Revenue Service auditing Corporations, Partnerships and LLCs. Benjamin also served as an Audit Manager, Trainer and Tax Return Classifier.  In 1998, Benjamin joined the management staff of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.  Benjamin spent 2 years managing tax compliance affairs of Multi National Corporations and Partnerships.  In August 2000, Benjamin opened his Accounting Practice in Southfield, MI.
Benjamin holds the following Professional Designations: Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner. 

Ruby D. Cunningham has over 25 years of combined legal, HR, accounting, and payroll experience. She began her career in the legal industry as a Certified Paralegal, Full-Charge Bookkeeper, and Human Resources Specialist. Ruby handled internal accounting, client billing, company payroll, and employee benefits administration.  

Ruby joined Benjamin J Cunningham CPA PLC in 2017 as the QuickBooks Accounting and Payroll Engagement Manager. Because of her extensive research capabilities, she has increased the Firm's success rate for IRS, State, and Local Dispute Resolution Cases.  

Ruby is also a Notary Public, an active member of the Michigan Bar Association, LA Section, and a graduate of the Mike Ilitch School of Business with a Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State University.
